Posted by BK on 8th Jan 2021
Both the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C5790 and the HP LaserJet Pro M479fdw are colour office printers with all-in-one capabilities. They print, scan, copy, and fax. The Epson WF-C5790 and the HP LaserJet Pro M479fdw are well matched to one another with fast print speeds, auto duplex printing, an auto document feeder, and advanced security, but they do have some differences. Let’s take a look.
HP LaserJet Pro M479fdw @ $750.oo CAD
The HP LaserJet Pro M479fdw is a laser printer that uses four individual colour toner cartridges and has a print resolution of 600 dpi. The recommended monthly print volume is from 750 to 4,000 pages per month.
The HP LaserJet Pro M479fdw prints, scans, copies, faxes, and emails documents and has an ISO print speed of up to 28 pages per minute for both black and colour. Its first page out speeds are up to 9.3 seconds for black and 10.9 seconds for colour.
Epson WF-C5790 MFP @ $389.00 CAD
The Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C5790 is a cartridge-free colour inkjet printer that comes in either a “supertank” or Replaceable Ink Pack System configuration. These inkjet solutions bring down the cost of colour printing dramatically, making the Epson WF-C5790 an economical choice. The Epson WF-C5790 has a recommended monthly print volume of up to 2,500 pages per month and a print resolution of up to 4800 dpi.
The Epson WF-C5790 prints, scans, copies, faxes, and emails documents. It also supports remote and mobile printing. The Epson WF-C5790 has an ISO print speed of up to 24 pages per minute for both black and colour. Unlike the HP LaserJet printer, the Epson WF-C5790 does not need to warm up, so print jobs begin immediately.
This brings us to an important point about print speeds. While the Epson WF-C5790 has a lower rated ISO print speed than the HP LaserJet Pro M479fdw, the lack of warmup time speeds things up considerably.
