Afinia CP950 Plus Printer for Carton Packaging - Featuring Memjet Technology and WaterShield
The Afinia CP950 Plus is the the “plus” version of the Afinia CP950. The main difference between these two versions is the ink type. The Afinia CP950 Plus uses VersaPass DN inks, which provide for better water and UV resistance. The print head in the Afinia CP950 Plus also lasts a little longer than the one in the Afinia CP950.
The Afinia CP950 Plus is a Memjet-powered carton packaging printer that can print rigid materials up to 6.35mm in thickness. Use the CP950 Plus to print the following:
- Cardboard cartons, packaging, signs, inserts etc…
- Card stock signs, cards, and packaging
- Paper boxes
- Slotted cartons
- Letterhead and stationary
- Envelopes
- Inkjet-coated bags

Afinia CP950 Plus Features
The Afinia CP950 Plus includes an adjustable print head that accommodates variable thicknesses up to 6.35mm thick and a pro-grade auto feeder. With its Memjet technology, the the Afinia CP950 Plus quickly prints carton packaging on demand. Using the CP950 Plus for large print runs is a breeze as it can be run unattended thanks to a simple paper path and large-capacity CMYK ink tanks containing 250ml of ink each (for a total of one liter of ink).
Powered by Memjet, the Afinia CP950 Plus prints 60 feet per minute and has 1600dpi print resolution. The Memjet print head distributes 700 million ink drops per second.
VersaPass DG vs VersaPass DN Inks
The VersaPass DN inks used in the CP950 Plus are specially formulated for both the Memjet print head as well as for greater water and UV light resistance. Since the inks resist water and fading better than those used in the CP950, the CP950 Plus is recommended for carton packaging that is likely to be exposed to moisture or light such as horticultural cartons and garden supplies.
The VersaPass DG inks (CP950) are bold and vibrant while the VersaPass DN inks (CP950 Plus) feature “WaterShield” technology for improved water and UV resistance. In both cases, Versa Pass inks are aqueous, dye-based inks — a safer choice than solvent-based inks used by many competing printers.
