Primera LX400 & LX500 Ink Cartridges
The number one questions customers ask about the Primera LX400 and LX500 ink cartridges and the printer is how many labels can I print with this ink cartridge. The number of labels you can print will vary depending on your label design, ink coverage and the colors used. Note that the LX400 and LX500 label printers from Primera Technology use a single ink cartridge which has the CYM (Cyan, Yellow and Magenta) inks in it. Once one of the three colors is finished in the ink cartridge, you will need to replace it. That is why, these two printers have the highest print cost. For example, if you use lots of red in your design, the magenta ink will finish first and you will be required to purchase a new cartridge. The LX400 and LX500 are great printers for customers printing couple of hundred labels per month. If you are going to print more, we recommend using a printer with four separate CYMK ink cartridges, which will generally save you 30 to 40% in ink cost because there will be no ink wasted.
